Deb has been making mosaics since 1997 and for a while it was just a hobby. After working as a landscape architect, which turned out to mean being a CAD monkey and trying to work in an office that sounded like a cocktail party in full swing she started to seek out an alternative means of existence. This new job would not consist of 8 hours a day on a computer, would require both physical and mental skill and that was when she started working on pebble mosaics. Seeing a large pebble mosaic on the cover of a magazine made a lightbulb go off in her head- I could do this she thought, and so she did, and still does.
What does Pietre Dure Design do  My team specializes in mosaics and architectural installations and fine art pieces for landscape spaces as well as interior settings. These architectural installations and sculptural pieces are functional, low maintenance, decorative and will last for decades. Mosaic is suitable for residential settings such as bathroom, kitchens, floor insets, fire places and commercial settings such as restaurants, spas, casinos and entrance lobbies, schools. Mosaic Art enhances any environment because it is designed with the context of the setting in mind. I work with landscape contractors, electricians, carpenters, millworkers and masons to make these commissions happen and without them they would progress far less smoothly.

My training and degrees in Art and Landscape Architecture/Horticulture have been invaluable in learning to visualize color, spatial relationships and the proper scale of the work with-in a space. As the principal of Pietre Dure Design I work with Landscape Architects, Architects, Interior Designers and homeowners and commercial properties. My business has produced custom commissions and exhibit pieces for private and commercial clients across the country.
