Detail - Terrace With Mosaic Medallion

This pebble and slate medallion was constructed in studio in five pieces. Each piece is 3-4 inches thick. All pieces were installed and leveled onsite and the joints were sealed with grout. They are made with the indirect method: each individual stone is fitted within a specified pattern that is constructed upside down and in reverse. Grout is poured over the stones, left to set and cement is poured over the "green" grout and left to cure for one month before installation. These are constructed of the highest quality concrete and exterior grout fortified with super plasticizers for increased flex and stability in our temperate climate.
