Frederick the Fish Bathroom

Of all the jobs I've done this bathroom was one of the funnest jobs I have had the pleasure of doing. The clients were so wonderful, a real joy to work with. They wanted a bathroom that felt like Florida, where they spend their winters. On the shower wall is a fish called Frederick made of smalti and contorno with a tropical flair. He is 15 inch long and was attached to the wall by screwing into a stud. The splashes are fused glass that was a collaboration with a glassblower in Northern CT, see links for more details. The arches were tiled and then some of the half marble cubes were removed and smalti, shells and pebbles were embedded in the mortar.
