The site is excavated to a depth of 12” the soil is compacted and back filled with stone dust. Materials: Bluestone Slabs on end and laid flat, large granite cobbles both round and sharp edged, black and white pebbles, Red Sandstone. This piece was built in the fall, right before it got too cold out to properly cure the cement. It was used as a demo for the Fall Festival at Tranquil Lake Nursery in Rehobeth MA. This nursery has some wonderful display gardens and is open to the public from March to November yearly. There is some unusual paving at Tranquil Lake and to stay in keeping this is a rather eclectic and unusual piece in that there are both horizontal and vertical elements included. There is a stone yard that has lots of great scap at the back of the nursery and so I spent some time culling rocks and brought some black and white pebbles with me to include as well as some stones from one of the owners collections. Public Commission, available for viewing. Tranquil Lake Nursery, Rehobeth, MA.
